Ever since I updated to iOS 18, my iPhone gets really hot even during light use. Anyone else facing this? Is it a bug or settings issue?

iOS updates usually run background indexing for a day or two after installation, which causes overheating. Mine cooled down after 48 hours. Just keep it out of direct sunlight and avoid heavy apps meantime.

Follow the above steps; there’s a high chance you will get the solution.

After updating to iOS 18, my own iPhone felt hotter than my morning coffee. You’re not alone! Right after a big update, your phone works a lot behind the scenes. It’s doing things like:

            1. Re-indexing photos and files
            2. Updating apps you forgot you had
            3. Syncing data in the background
            4. And this extra work can heat things up for a day or two.

            Is It Just the Update?

Not always! Sometimes, it’s just a couple of apps going wild because they aren’t ready for iOS 18. When that happens:

            1. Battery drains fast
            2. The phone gets warm, even if you’re not using it much

My quick tip? Close apps you’re not using and update all your apps in the App Store. Seriously, it can help a lot.

What Can I Do Right Now?

            1. Here’s what’s worked for me (and my friends):
            2. Close background apps
            3. Restart your iPhone
            4. Update all your apps
            5. Give it a day or two
If you do this, chances are your phone will cool down. And if not, maybe reset your settings, but that’s usually a last resort.

Note: no need to panic. This is super common after a big update. Let your iPhone adjust, keep the apps up to date, and it should be back to normal soon. If not, you can always ask for help!
