My Instagram account was recently hacked, and the hacker changed both the email address and phone number linked to it. I no longer have access to the recovery options. Has anyone successfully recovered their account in a similar situation? What steps should I take now to get it back? Any help or guidance would be really appreciated.
August 6, 2025 at 10:11 am #403Your Instagram got hacked, and now someone else changed your email and phone. This is way more common than you would think. It’s like waking up and finding the keys to your house are missing.
Can You Get Your Account Back? You still have a shot. Even if the bad guy changed your info, Instagram has steps to help you recover your account. I have seen people pull it off.
What Should You Do Now?
Go to the Instagram Login Page.
Head to where you’d normally log in, and click on Need more help? under the password box.Try Your Old Info.
Instagram lets you ask for a login link. If you still have any access to your old email or phone, check those inboxes. Even an old account could save you here.Proof You are You
If nothing works, Instagram might ask you to send a selfie video. Just you looking at your phone’s camera. It’s a bit weird, but it helps prove your identity.Don’t Give Up.
Instagram support can be slow, but persistence really does pay off. Keep following up if you don’t hear back fast.Final Thought: getting hacked is no fun, but you havegot ways to fight back. Be patient, don’t stop trying, and you might just get your account back.

Gone. Someone else’s info is in there, and you cannot get in. That is enough to make anyone panic.
Do not Freak Out – You have Got Options: This happened to my cousin; she almost cried but got it sorted out in the end. And guess what? You can, too. Here is What You Need To Do
1. Open Instagram’s login screen.
2. Tap on Need more help?
3. Fill in all the details you remember about your account.
4. Tell Instagram how your account was stolen; keep it honest and real.Sometimes, Instagram will ask you for proof, like a quick video selfie, just to make sure you are actually you.
Be Patient and Act Fast: It might take some time for Instagram to reply, but do not give up. The quicker you act, the better your chances.
What To Do Next Time—Stay Safe: After going through this, you’ll want to turn on two-factor authentication. It’s simple, and it can save you from this stress in the future.
