So you open Snapchat one day, and out of nowhere, there’s this little yellow heart next to someone’s name. You’re probably thinking, “Umm. did I win something? Are we dating now?” Been there. Let me explain.
That yellow heart? It just means you are their #1 Best Friend, and guess what they are yours too. In simple terms, you both snap each other more than anyone else. That’s it. Kinda cute, right?
I remember the first time I saw it it was with my best friend during summer break.We were constantly sending each other random photos of food, our pets, dumb filters. you name it. One morning I wake up, open Snapchat, and boom yellow heart. I legit took a screenshot.
But don’t get too attached. That yellow heart can disappear real fast if you start snapping someone else more. Snapchat is a little savage like that. It only cares about who you’re snapping the most not who you like the most.
And here is a fun thing: if you keep being each other’s top snap buddy, the heart can level up. After two weeks, it turns red. Keep going? You get two pink hearts. It’s basically Snapchat’s version of a friendship medal.
the yellow heart just means you are someone’s top snapper, and they are yours. Nothing complicated. Just keep the streak going if you want to keep it.
